Sun-dry Clothesline

by Emily Franklin

shake me dry   pulled thin clothesline    tucked in baskets spread out sunny
twist this water from my skin   my fabric     peel the tags my hairs nails burry them
let me grow in tides   mixed in with the whites      staining weighted clothesline
soaked in bright long rays
of wind waves
shake me dry tight tied soak the sun in me       smooth the creases in me
flatten sleeves wastes collar bones of me

pin and hang   unpin unhang    unpin and hang    pin unhang      smooth fold    unfold hang
